2 went bad in less than 2 years!
Pros
At the time one of the few drives that offered a black bezel.
Cons
Only works for 10 months than you have to replace it.

Bought this drive in May 2002 for a system I built. First drive went bad in March 2003. Was replaced free with a refurbished drive with original manufacture date of August 2002. That drive went bad in February 2004. So I have had two of these drives go bad within 2 years time, and I had hardly ever used these drives. Plextor says it will not replace the drive anymore. The remanufactured replacement only had a 90-day warranty, and I'm outside of the original 1 year warranty on the original drive.
I have have built 6 systems since 2002 and none of the other CD-RW drives and CD-ROM drives from other manufactures have ever given me a problem. This was my first attempt at using Plextor and it will certainly be my last. I hope Maximum PC magazine goes after them since they were the ones recommending these drives.
