Good digital camcorder if bought cheap.

The Bottom Line:
If you can purchase this for around $30.00, it is a great device to learn with. I use it in rough areas, if I break it, it didn't cost much.
I purchased this as a refurbished device from an online store for $28.00. The quailty of the video was best described by another user who said that it reminded him of the early VHS camcorders in the late 1980's.
It does not do well in low lighting and is best when used outdoors. It makes a great camera for video that will be posted to the web.
The file size is rather large as it uses MJPEG (motion JPEG) and I suggest using a video convertor or Windows Movie Maker program to convert the format to the .wmv format after uploading it to your computer. A 1GB SD card can store about 20min. of video in the VGA format (640x480). QVGA (320x240) can store about 40 minutes, though the quality is not enjoyable in QVGA. I have used a 2GB SD card in the camera, though it appears that the file size doubles and you still only get about 20 min per card with the same quality. Just keep a couple 1GB SD cards with you.
The still camera function is useless. There is a lag from when you press the capture button to when the photo is taken. Every picture I have taken is well below satisfactory. I keep a Kodak digital camera for stills and use this for video.
For $28.00 (this included shipping) I am happy. Anymore than $35.00 and I would be a bit dissappointed. I would be interested in seeing the quality the newer HD digital camcorders. I noticed Sony's new HD digital camcorder costs about $180.
