Wonderful idea...Poor quality

Pros - small - convenient - easy to install - decent quality (when it worked!)
Cons - cost - screen burnout
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:  Buy it only if you're fine with knowing you'll be upgrading the LCD in about a year. It really is functional if space is a concern.
First, let me say that this is my first review on Epinions. I really value this site and have been using it to make informed purchases for years now.

On to the review! I bought this tv as a Christmas present for my wife in December 2005. She spends a lot of time in the kitchen, especially in the morning for breakfast. This TV has been especially helpful with my son who loves watching the Wiggles or Elmo as soon as he gets up. It really provided us with flexibility and "grown-up" time for an hour while we get ready for the day. That is, until the screen burned out!!!

And, apparently, I'm not the only one to experience this. Had all of the negative reviews been posted prior to my purchase, I never would have bought it. But, in hindsight, let me explain what I liked about it.

- I have very limited space in my kitchen. The fact that this TV/radio/DVD player fits snugly under the cabinet was a blessing.
- The controls are intuitive and perform fine.
- The remote was ok, but we barely used it so I really can't comment.
- The 7" screen quality was fine as well, but for the $350 that I paid for the unit, I was more buying it for convenience, than for a crystal clear picture. What's more, my son loved his morning DVD!

Really, there's only one issue that I didn't like, but it's a big one.

- The LCD screen burned out after just 14 months! What kind of quality is that? Apparently, many others have had the same issue. Poorly executed and I would be hard pressed to buy another Polaroid TV, particularly when it appears they don't stand behind their product.

That said, there are very few under-the-counter options that seem to be as functional. I hate to spend $120+ on a new screen, but the alternative is an even more expensive unit.

Stay tuned. If I buy a replacement LCD, I'll report back.
