Play Creatively with the I-Zone Polaroid Camera

Cons film is expensive if not found on sale
Recommended it? Yes
Creative, crafty and fun projects for personalizing just about anything is possible with the petite picture producing Polaroid I-Zone Instant Pocket Camera.

With the holidays approaching soon, I wondered what I would do creatively on my Christmas cards for this year. I remember what fun my son and I had last year giving some of our cards a very unique touch with the postage stamp type pictures from the Polaroid I-Zone Pocket Camera.

Some of the cards came out really cute. We placed the small pictures, with an adhesive backing, in a collage type arrangement onto the inside of a few of the cards. It also worked great for the thank you note I sent to my brother with me wearing the blouse that he had given me as a gift.

One downside to this little camera is that you have to be careful and not get too carried away with the tiny picture taking because the sticky film is a little expensive and can average around $9.99 for twelve exposures. Regular film can be purchased a little cheaper at around $5.99 to $6.99, but it is not near as much fun to play with.

The Polaroid I-Zone is often seen advertised as a child?s toy, but I can attest that it makes the perfect adult toy as well. It comes in three bright colors to choose from; Cool Lime Green, Bright Breezy Blue, and Radical Red. It is what its? name says it is?.a pocket camera. It is small, sleek and quite durable.

I can understand why it is often advertised as a child?s toy because it is so simple to use. To take a picture, you just aim and shoot, and out comes the cutest little picture. You just turn the camera over and follow the numbered picture instructions printed on the bottom. A built in flash is easily controlled by the settings found on top of the camera. These are in the form of picture instructions as well.

The small black-bordered images come out pretty sharp and of course you have that instant gratification of seeing them develop in mere seconds before your eyes. Their size is about 1 ? inches wide by 1 ? inches high. So, of course there won?t be any panoramic ability or group shots taken with this small camera. It works best if you stand within several feet of the object you are taking a picture of.

The I-Zone accompanied me to a party once this year and is still talked about occasionally. I have seen numerous other ideas for the I-Zone such as:

? Personalize letters
? Story telling in diaries
? Event journals from vacation trips
? Notebooks
? Thank you notes after a party
? Personalize objects at your workplace
? Share pet pictures
? Personalize your pets grooming supplies
? Instructions
? Paintings
? Automobile shopping

Of course, small kids could be creative beyond the word I am sure and come up with literally thousands of different ideas for where to stick a small picture. Fortunately, the batteries seem to last very well. The little camera just takes two AA batteries to operate.

I purchased the camera last year for $18.99 and found some great buys on the film throughout the holidays. I have no doubt in my mind that I will pull this little play toy out over the holidays while my son is home. He is 19 years old and we were both acting like kids with the camera! I can very easily recommend this as a gift for children as well as adults and for $20.00 nowadays you can?t go too wrong with the Polaroid I-Zone Instant Pocket Camera.
