The Polaroid I-Zone Camera- Get Sticky With It!

Pros Lots of uses, and fun to take.
Cons Film can be costly.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  A fun and easy camera to use for all ages!
When the Polaroid I-Zone Pocket Cameras first came out, I thought, why and where would you put such tiny little pictures? I thought, why not buy one and find out?! I found so many uses and fun things to take pics of, so SMILE, and read about my experience with this camera.

COST

Before you can even get it home, you have to know what this baby is going to cost you. This camera will cost around $18.00, and I have yet to see them go down yet. You can find them for fairly cheaper at a Warehouse, but you can bet on always paying around $20 for this camera.

VARIETY

When I purchased my camera, they came in silver, blue, and red colors. You can now find them in brighter colors and also multi-colored as well.

ANYTHING COME WITH IT?

Each camera comes with a roll of film that contains 6 exposures, 4 Triple A Batteries, a camera strap for holding or putting on your wrist, instructions, and of course, the camera.

FILM

Film can be bought seperately, each costing around $5.00 for a roll of 12 exposures. They can also be bought in packs, at such places like Sam's Club for about $18.00.

Film comes in stickers or regular, regular being the cheaper one. Each comes with the same amount of exposures, but I highly recommend the sticker film- alot more fun!

QUALITY OF PICTURES

All of my pictures have come out quite clear and nice. The pictures will not come out if their is not enough light, or if there is to much light. If you have ever owned a Polaroid camera, then it is pretty much the same guidelines.
The pictures take about a couple of minutes to come out, and nothing will speed up that process. Contrary to belief, blowing on them or waving them, will not process them any faster. Just put them aside and let them develop on their own. As with all pictures, touching them will leave fingerprints, and on small pics, they can be some BIG fingerprints! These pictures also come with colorful borders, that cannot be cut off because they are a part of the pictures.

EASE OF USING CAMERA

It takes some getting used to, but here is the run down:

To load the film, slide the black button down, located on the side of the camera. Place the black box of film into the numbered area, having the extra slack coming out the open end. Shut the door, and pull on the extra slack until it let's go- you are now set to take pictures!

Taking pictures is also fairly simple, just select from the three options located on the top of the camera, labeled with the purple knob. You can switch from indoors, to sunny, to even cloudy, and finally turning the flash off all together. A word of warning, when the flash is off, the purple button can not be pushed down and the camera will not work. The off button is more or less a lock for your camera, and when not needing a flash, I simply put it on the outdoors/sunny selection.

When taking pictures, this camera can only be used for subjects close-up. For example, head shots will come out beautifully, but the entire body will seem distant. I tried taking a pic of the HOLLYWOOD SIGN in CA from the Griffith Tower, and you couldn't even see one letter of it! I would say to stand about 8-10 feet from the subject, and to make sure your flash is on the correct setting.

After a pic is taken, MAKE SURE to take the sleeve out, or you will double expose your pictures. Take it out carefully, sometimes the sleeves can stick together and you might inadvertently take out an unexposed pic that you now have wasted.

Because there is no counter on this camera, you must rely on looking at your previous pic that came out. Each sleeve that contains the pic is numbered, so you will know how many you have left.

The camera is a slender size that can be shoved into a back pocket or purse- not bulky at all.

WHAT CAN THESE TINY PICS BE USED FOR?

This is the first question I asked myself, after taking a bundle of pics with this. Here is what I came up with:

**Baby Books: These small pics are IDEAL for Baby books, because there is not a whole lot of room for them, as we all know, so what I do is put a pic near FIRST TOOTH, FIRST HAIRCUT, and/or FIRST BIRTHDAY. I have gotten a number of compliments on the way I have sorted and placed them, so I highly recommend this for parents!

**Barbies Home: My daughter has a huge Barbie home, so I let her take some pics of whatever she wanted, and then she stuck them all over her Barbie home like pictures that were hung. She thought it was so cool that Barbie had a picture hanging up of her in her home!

**School Notebooks and Book Covers: This is a fun way to dress up bland notebooks and book covers, and they stick and stay great!

**Address Books: I found that takign pics of my friends and family, and then placing them near their address, really helped me and dressed up my address book a bit. THis is also VERY helpful for people who have trouble remembering names and faces as well.

**Wrapping presents: My daughter loved that one of her presents for Christmas was wrapped in plain red paper, and then had sticky pictures all over of her and our family together.

**Greeting Cards: A great way to also dress up greeting cards for birthdays, anniversaries, etc.. Take pics of a favorite couple, such as your parents, and then when their anniversary comes up, you can stick those pics of them from the past in there- I guarantee they will love it!

MISCELLANEOUS

These pictures DO NOT have negatives with them, so if you are going to be wanting a copy, your best bet is to scan them into your computer.

OTHER ACCESSORIES

Polaroid has come out with a type of small scanner just for these small pictures, and can then be downloaded to your computer. The cost was around $49.99, quite steep I feel, and can be found next to these cameras and their film in the same area.

WHAT AGE CAN USE THIS CAMERA?

For once, I have found a camera that my 7 year old can operate and have fun with. She loves the fact that she can take them and have them right away, along with being able to use them as stickers is such a treat to her. If you have a child, neice or nephew, etc.. this would make a great present for them on any occasion.

Adults will love this camera, and hopefully as much as I do. I do not recommend it for adults who have problems with their eyesight, as it may strain them to see the pics, but for anyone else, it is great fun and let's you get creative in different ways.

In closing, I highly recommend this camera, it is of great quality and stands up to it's Polaroid name.
