My son got this as a Christmas gift and it has been a thorn in my side ever since. The film is WAY too expensive ($7.99 on sale at Wal-Mart), the camera has to be manually turned off (explain this to an 8 year old and expect him to remember it) or the batteries will run dead in about three hours.
The quality of the pictures is severely lacking. The pictures themselves are very small only about 2x3 (don't have a specific measurement here). About one in every five will not develop. For what I have to pay for the film, I expect every one to develop. There are "ghosts" on most of the pictures, or there is a light "splash" around the outside edge. I have noticed that 2-3 weeks after the picture has been taken, the image starts to fade.
The camera is bulky.
It takes a long time for the flash to warm up.
I just in general do not like this camera at all, for children or adult use.
