bylwickens Aug 11, 2001
5 Helpfuls 6 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros It's instant,fun and handy...photos in a flash!
Cons Only 10 shots per film
Recommended it? Yes

I have bought big flash expensive cameras in the past only to have things go wrong and then have to spend big on repairs. I am not exactly a "pro photographer", just a mum wanting quick, fun photos of my family. Thats what attracted me to the Joycam, and secondly it was the most reasonably priced... Read full review »

Pros Pictures develop instantly. This is a great camera for kids to use! :-)
Cons Really really really expensive film ($15 for 10 pictures!!!)
Recommended it? Yes

I got this camera for Christmas 2000 from a relative. Most of my friends have this camera. This is also great for kids because they love watching the film develop, and the camera itself is very easy to use. The younger children in my family love it a lot. The pictures, however, are smaller than... Read full review »

Pros Fun, Instant Pictures, Conveinent
Cons Bulky size, A little cheaply made
Recommended it? Yes

I have been waiting, and waiting to get my hands on one of these cameras. When I was a
little girl the first camera I ever got was a Polaroid from my Aunt for an Christmas gift. I
was 8 or 9 and I lugged that big huge camera around with me everywhere. I loved the
whole instant picture... Read full review »

Not too Shabby?

bysincat Mar 26, 2001
4 Helpfuls 5 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Easy to use, cute design, relatively small & easy to carry around
Cons Pictures are grainy, film refills like to "jamb" up inside it, cheap plastic...
Recommended it? Yes

I purchased the Polaroid JoyCam on a kind of "sper of the moment " thing. I am over all pleased with it's performance, after all you really can't expect much for $30 any more these days. It's very easy to use, turn it on, point, shoot, and pull the tab to release your photo. The JoyCam is also... Read full review »

Joycam: My new favorite toy

byecossar Dec 11, 2000
4 Helpfuls 5 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Instant pics, interesting pictures
Cons some may prefer a traditional camera
Recommended it? Yes

I've always been fascinated with Polaroid cameras. Take the picture, and a minute later, it's sitting in your hand. So when Polaroid introduced the new Joycam, I nearly wet my pants with excitement.

I've had so much fun (joy?) using this camera. It's important that you have a well lighted... Read full review »

The reason why i got a joycam is because i saw my friend had one and i saw how cute the pictures came out they weren't as small as the izone so i bought one not knowing how much the film was becasue it came with it and then when i ran out of film i went to the store to get more and i about fell... Not worth the price

byjules_k Apr 22, 2001
3 Helpfuls 4 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros price, smaller than other instant cameras
Cons price of film, difficult to use
Recommended it? No

I bought the Polaroid Joycam before realizing that it didn't even come with film. I then spent $14.00(!) on film at a supermarket.

The camera itself is on the bulky side. My Joycam doesn't even "piece" together properly. There are some parts of the plastic that match up at odd angles. The... Read full review »

I got a joycam!!!! One week later "I got a joycam."

byrolling May 2, 2001
2 Helpfuls 3 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros It's portable, it's an instant camera and yeah o.k.
Cons I need more than 15 words
Recommended it? No

The Polaroid joycam is an instant film camera. The camera is practically weight less since it needs no batteries. The film is easy to load. And the camera is easy to use.
That's all the good things now the bad. It's expensive to take a picture each film of 10 exposures cost $10.00. The camera... Read full review »

I Think It's FUN!

byvdawn Dec 14, 2001
1 Helpfuls 2 Helpfuls Was this review helpful?
Pros Easy to use, fun to decorate pics with stickers, great at parties
Cons Film is way too expensive, red button can get pushed easily by accident
Recommended it? Yes

A lot of people have not given the best reviews of the Joycam, but you certainly can't expect a $20 camera to take pictures like a 35mm camera! Granted, the film is much more than I care to pay for it, but I don't use the camera for every little thing and use up a 10-pk all at once. The fun thing... Read full review »

Polaroid JoyCam 500 Instant Camera, Blue

The Polaroid JoyCam Kit includes Polaroid's latest JoyCam camera model and a 10-frame film cartridge. The Polaroid JoyCam is a revision of the instant camera design that made Polaroid famous. It has a small body in comparison to its bulky predecessors and offers a frame counter and a built-in selectable flash with a flash-ready light. Easy enough for a child to use, the Polaroid JoyCam operates with the push of a single button--no focusing is necessary. The design feature that sets the Polaroid JoyCam apart from other instant cameras is its film delivery system--or lack of one. Traditional instant cameras relied on film cartridges with built-in batteries to enable the camera to expel each shot; however, this model works without a battery. Instead, users pull a plastic ring on the side of the camera to extract the exposed frame. This manual process enables Polaroid to offer a lighter camera body and compatible instant film cartridges at a more reasonable price. The Polaroid JoyCam takes pictures at a range of 3 feet to infinity. It works with Polaroid 500 instant film and produces pictures that measure 4.4 by 2.5 inches, which is slightly smaller than traditional Polaroid shots.
