I typically refrain from writing short epinions. When I'm reading someone else's writing on a topic, I prefer to see some depth of thought and experience.
Well, I'm breaking my unwritten rule here for the Polariod One Step. We purchased this "camera" to take pictures at a friend's bridal shower. My thought was that it was a bit of an extravagance, but that we'd at least be able to use it in the future. There ARE, in fact, still times when an instant picture is of value, regardless of the coming of the digital photo age.
OK, here's my review.
The guy in the store warned me. But I didn't listen.
This camera is horrible. The quality of the photos ranks right up there with a jolt from a cattle prod. You really don't appreciate or want either, and after the experience everything is pretty blurry. The flash is anemic, and the close-focus "mechanism" both doesn't work and reminds me of some sort of kiddie toy.
I recall Polariod cameras from 20 years ago that produced a much more appealing (though still by no means wonderful) picture. Polaroid, what's happened to you? Perhaps having a virtual monopoly on the instant camera market (since you legislated Kodak into submission) has made you soft.
I apologize for not elaborating further, but it just isn't worth my time to continue writing or your time to continue reading. Don't buy it. Just don't. It truly is a waste of money.
