I was looking for a low priced DVD player for use on the commuter train. Most important factors were price and battery life.
I believe this unit is sold only by Wal-Mart & WalMart.com.
The PDM-0711 has acceptable screen resolution - though not great. The unit is heavier than expected, especially with the battery pack. Included were A/C and auto adaptor. Battery life seems to be within the range of 3.5 hours advertised.
This unit has none of the basic functions you would expect from a DVD/CD player. There is no battery level, playback timer, sound level indicator, or any other display of any kind. Of course, the menu of your DVD is available, but nothing integrated into the unit.
Video output is also included, as is the ability to display photos from CD. I have not used these features.
Overall, the low price ($119) and acceptable screen resolution make this a very basic DVD player. It is very possible that a similar unit could be found with more functionality at the same price point.
