Polaroid should be held accountable for THEIR design flaw!
Pros
Good Picture, Swivel Screen is very handy.
Cons
Scratches the DVDs, speakers are useless, very poor customer service
Recommended it?
No
The Bottom Line:
Don't buy Polaroid's products, they don't stand behind their design flaws. They expect you to buy ANOTHER player to fix their problem! No more Polaroid products for me!
WE bought this portable DVD for car travel. For the price we paid, one would have thought it should work pretty well! Beware, it scratches your DVDs!!! I have had to tape down the ribbon to try to keep it from scratching our movies, and that doesn't always work. Customer service was extremely rude and basically told me... oh well, too bad for you, we could sell you another one. That takes a lot of nerve. A reputable company like SONY would have taken care of the problem, in OR out of warranty - they did for me on a TV and also our 3-year-old Playstation II. Polaroid needs to learn from the big boys. They got the LAST of my hard earned cash! This is a design flaw on their part, they should stand behind their product, not expect you to purchase ANOTHER one. Even the sound quality through the speakers is terrible, you have to wear headphones to hear clearly. And the DVD door pops open if you are not careful. We bought it at Christmas and never really used it until our first road trip which was past the 3 month warranty. More people need to complain about this company's policies. You should not HAVE to buy extended warranties if the product is manufactured well. It's becoming a huge scam. The more I read about consumers having the same problem, I am half tempted to file a class action suit against Polaroid!
