Pros Large Screen, Good Picture, plays every possible format, priced right.
Cons Sound is tinny, plastic feel but sturdy, Only NTSC format.

The Bottom Line:  Excellent overall DVD player, sound could be better.
I wanted a portable DVD player with a large screen, mainly for car use, but with the flexibility to connect to a normal TV. I did not want to spend a lot of money. This one fits the bill.

The player is plastic but feels sturdy enough. It is one inch thick and very light, heavier and thicker with the battery pack. It comes with all necessary cables, home and car power adapters, and a simple case/car headrest mount. All functions can be controlled with the included remote.

The screen is 10 inches. It can swivel around, then fold it back down completely flat and watch it on the car headrest. The picture is good, not great. Most importantly, it has a wide viewing angle, so both people in the back seat of a car can see. The default picture format is widescreen, but easily switches (manually) to a 4:3 format when needed.

The player also handles MP3 files on CD, but very basic -- no ID3 tags or playlists. It handles JPGs, again without frills. It plays VCDs easily, I did not try SVCD. It does not play DIVX. The audio/video out jack is switchable to an analog input jack, so you can use the player for viewing video camera footage, or for a PS2 or other video game system.

Where the player falls flat is in the sound department. The speakers are loud enough but the sound is very tinny. With headphones it is fine. I only fault the system here. Polaroid has a pretty nice player here, if they just had not skimped on the speakers.
