Cons
Freezeups, bad physical quality, poor design

No
The Bottom Line:
Bad quality and poor design makes this unit a poor choice.
Picture locks up all the time requiring a powercycle to unfreeze. Happens on 75% of disks (over 40 tried.) Some disks don't play at all. Makes the unit unusable.
Sound levels very very low - even max volume is hard to hear (tried with 8 different headphones / earbuds that ranged in price from $20 - $300 Bose noise canceling.) This makes it very difficult to use in noisey environments like airplanes and cars.
You can't get to the controls when the unit is in the seat-back bag - all the controls are "inside". The IR receiver location when in the bag also makes it difficult to use.
The remote has cheesy "bubble" buttons that are hard to use and don't seem to pick up button presses reliably.
The response time on controls is slow - the lag is so bad you hit the buttons repeatedly until it finally wakes up and realize you hit a button.
The startup time, "disk in to first picture", can take 30 seconds to a minute. Coupled with the slow control response time, it's very frustrating.
The battery just kind of hangs on the back and doesn't attach securly - it feels like it want's to break off. You can't put the unit in the seat-back bag with the battery on, so you are forced to use either a generic external battery (like Energizer makes) or 12V power into your car's power jack.
Bottom line: I don't know what the designers were thinking. This was one of the more expensive players in the store, and the quality and design is lacking. You really can't get a true feel of how bad it is until you get the unit out of the box, and really USE it.
I took the unit on a 2 week trip with my family, mainly to help keep the 5 year old occupied on 2 12-hour flights. I was seriously disappointed (and so was the 5 year old.)
