Door broke after 4 months and can't be fixed - Out of Warranty

NO REPAIRS OFFERED AT ALL. Way over priced replacements. If it breaks, Throw it away!

I bought a Polaroid DVD Player 4 months ago (PDM-2727) for $180.
My kids were very happy with the unit and it made long trips go fast. This kept Mom and Dad happy also.
Then the door broke off when I opened it, in the beginning of August (out of warranty). The Door is a very flimsy piece of plastic being pushed open by a spring. I pushed the button and it flew apart. Very bad.
Now, I can't get a new door for this unit or even get it repaired. I can only spend $110 for a replacement unit from Polaroid.
They offer only a 90 day Warranty and don't offer repairs or replacement parts to fix these units.
Now the unit doesn't want to work some times and the unit makes a lot of rattling noise because I set the door in place when we try to use it.
Do you think that this is fair to the consumer buying this product? Well, I Don't!
I will no longer purchase or recommend Polaroid products.
