Battery Fails - Horrible Customer Service
Pros
The unit works fairly well on 120VAC or the car adapter
Cons
The battery fails almost immediately, and Polaroid Customer Service is NON-EXISTENT.
Recommended it?
No
The Bottom Line:
Don't buy it... I could take the early failure OR the bad customer service (bordering on theft) but not both.
Bought the unit at Circuit City to entertain my daughter on trips in the car and occasional plane rides. Within 2-3 months, the battery failed (i.e. blew up while not charging or in use). Circuit City does not carry a replacement, and none to be found on line. I called Polaroid directly to buy one for an upcoming plane trip. It took over 45 minutes to order the battery (there was a SIGNIFICANT language barrier) with literally 4-5 letter-by-letter spellings of our address, etc. Charged cost of battery and overnight shipping to my credit card. When it didn't arrive as planned, called Polaroid again. They had no record of my phone #, address or name. Using the confirmation # I had written down, they found the order...with the wrong name, wrong address and WRONG STATE. Asked to cancel the order and refund charges, and they REFUSED. They said that they would issue a refund check once I sent their battery back. I asked how I could possibly be responsible for a battery that they never sent to ME, and they had no answer other than to tell me that FedEx would "figure it out eventually" and then I could send it back and get a check in the mail. Now I'm left to dispute the credit card charges and battle on. Better Business Bureau, here I come.
