Lemon Laws should apply here

Pros Comes with a battery backup. Kids can't access the buttons very easily. Remote.
Cons "Bad Disc" error renders it unusable.
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:  Avoid this machine at all costs. There may be some machines out there working well, but there's too much of a risk it will break!
I realize that I'm just reiterating what others have said, but I often use this site when I'm looking to buy something, and if a lot of people have the same problem, I know to stay away from it, so:

We have twin two-year olds, and when we looked at portable DVD players for the car, we almost bought a single unit with one screen. Then we realized that we would have to either sit the unit on the center console or hang it between the two front seats, and either way it blocks your access to the back. I need to be able to reach back and pick up a dropped toy or sippy cup, and you can't do that with a single monitor unit. This unit, like most of the dual screen units, mounts on the back of the headrests of the front chairs. Also, we figured two screens would mean less fighting. I also liked this unit compared to other dual screen units because it has the DVD player set up so the controls are not easily accessible to the kids in the back, and it has a remote so that it can be controlled from the front seat. It worked well for about 120 days. Then, like the other reviewers, we got a "Bad Disc" message and the machine makes a horrible noise when we try to run it. This happens even with a brand new DVD, so we know the disks aren't damaged. Unfortunately, we didn't get the extended warranty, and the manufacturer's warranty only lasts 90 days, so now we're in the market for a new one. Frankly, even if we had purchased the extended warranty, I think I would still be looking for a different brand, as I don't have much confidence in this machine.
