Polaroid PDV-0713A 7 in. Portable DVD Player

I really like this unit. I love the battery being on the bottom of the unit instead of a tumor off the back or the side like lots of portable dvd players. It makes the unit slightly thicker, but still manageable.

There is only one thing I really don't like about it. It does not have the capability to resume disk play after the power has been shut off. I use this unit to entertain me on my treadmill. I use it for 30-90 minutes at a time, so often I am quitting in the middle of a movie or a disk. In order for me to resume playback, I have to fast forward to the last played spot. This is very annoying to me, but I only paid $130 for the unit, so I guess I can't have everything.

The unit also doesn't have on screen display (OSD) so I can't even make a note of the timestamp on the disk when I end and cue up to that the next time.

I've used the unit 3 or 4 times and like having it. Keeps me on the treadmill longer than normal because I don't get bored as quickly and a couple times I've wanted to see "the next good part" of a favorite movie, so stay on the treadmill for 5 or 10 minutes more.

I haven't tried the cd or mp3 feature, because I bought it for watching movies. I also haven't hooked it up to any TVs because of this. I did hook my husband's nice digital camera up to it, but the jpeg display of the pictures was grainy and unclear.

So far I recommend this unit unless you can get one with proper resume!
