The Bottom Line:
the player's new-to-me..other reviews mention the lamp having extremely short lifespan. this is a real problem, not just opinion, bad luck, or abuse. Only time will tell.
I just got one of these Polaroid players I was surprised to find out they are actually discontinued now, so I went ahead and got 2 extra batteries.
I plan to use the player mostly on plane flights and so it's no good having the thing play dead halfway into a 6 or 7 hour flight. The 3 hour maximum specified battery life made this purchase a have-to. It arrived well packaged, as a kit with basic accessories. It's a shame it's discontinued it was well marketed.
The overall quality of the player looks very good. It has some personal style, not that pressed tin can look most of the players have. Yeah it's plastic but everything is now. I've test driven the older Cobys ehh..they're about the same. Maybe the newest Cobys look a bit better but you pay and they can get finicky and think they're barbeques instead of DVD players.Then what do you have...a plastic omelette. ( anybody who G**Gles "Coby" and "recall" in the search window, knows what I'm alluding to)
Any way...I really like the quantity of features on this player for the affordable price. It has a great picture..really, Dolby sound, a USB port, SD slot(not sure if it's SDHC though) or the max GB's allowed.
Since it's closeout I got it on **** for 116.00 shipped. Xtra batteries normally 59.99 I got for 26.99,from the factory site I'm lovin it even more now. Plus I Swiss Army-cized it when I slapped on a 3 inch decal..SWEET! I'm testing it on the flight to MASS. in July for Summer break...hope it doesn't break
