Should you expect more for $70.00?
Pros
Low price. Decent for everyday photos
Cons
Fragile, disposible, lack of parts.
Recommended it?
No
The Bottom Line:
Not that great for a digital camera, but it's only $70 after all.
The Polaroid i733 Digital Camera is a low-end camera. Don't expect professional quality photos from a $70 camera.
The camera has a very "plastic" feel to it. The lens appears to be plastic rather than glass. The lens mechanism is very fragile and jams easily with any bumping or dirt build-up.
The flash range is pretty limited. Once you try to use flash at 10 fett or more, you'll get a brightly lighted center with a darkening circle around it.
Zoom is OK, but not great. Battery life is very short so I would recommend you use Ni-Mh rechargeable batteries.
The LCD is nice and large, but that makes it a bit fragile in a camera constructed of so much plastic.
As mentioned in other reviews of this camera, at $70, Polaroid does not supply parts for this camera. Once it's broken, it's broken. Perhaps you could find one with the parts you need on ebay, but don't expect your local camera repair shop to fix it. You might want to consider an extended warranty in case it does fail. That way you can probably get a replacement or trade up to a better model.
This camera would be ideal for the novice or preteen except for the fact that it's too fragile. It is best suited for the casual home photographer who wants to share digital photos online.
The bottom line is that for $70, you are buying a disposable digital camera. With the Polaroid i733 being so fragile and having no parts available, you will be disposing of it on day. How long that will be depends on how careful you are with it.
