nice laptop, but a very poor investment because of the ram slot issue

The Powerbook is a sleek, beautiful laptop, with a great operating system. I fell in love with this laptop from day one. The 15" screen is bright, the keyboard is nice to use. However, the love was cut short when after the warranty expired, the lower ram slot failed, and I was out of luck faced with a $1000 repair. That's fine because I didn't get apple care, however it turns out the problem is very widespread, with many reports that the problem reoccurs multiple times. This makes it even worse given Apple only warranties a logic board replacement for 90 days if your Powerbook is out of warranty. Such a beautiful laptop, but such a fatal defect that Apple refuses to acknowledge so far. For that reason I would say be careful with your purchase of an Apple laptop.
