PSB Alpha Mini Subwoofer Speaker

I needed another pair of speakers to expand my stereo into another room, but I did not want to spend too much money. The stereo store where I was shopping let me try several different speakers with any music that I wanted. Naturally, I played Sonic Youth really loud to hear just how crisp of a sound I could get.

These speakers can fill a smaller room with full, rich sound. Compared to any other speakers I heard in the size and price range, these are so much cleaner sounding. Like most small speakers, however, a separate subwoofer would really fill in the sound. In a large room some of the richness gets lost. I need to aim the speakers fairly precisely to a specific listening area. As part of a surround sound system they work beautifully.

If you did not actually see them, you would think you are listening to much larger speakers. Of course, they do not throw out as much pure thumping bass as my huge "furniture sized" behemoths.

I also have played around with various ways of mounting them, but I end up moving them around a bit. For the price range, these are the best speakers that I heard.
