I had been struggling with the idea of buying a camcorder for over a year. I didn't need anything fancy, I just needed something small and efficient enough to capture the little moments and the digital camera that I owned couldn't cut it. I eventually came across an article highlighting the Flip Video in a local newspaper and was intrigued. It seemed like a simple enough concept; point, shoot, edit, upload. But was it worth it at such a low cost?

I eventually broke down and purchased the Flip Video Ultra Series in Black off of Amazon for the low price of $149.00 and I love it!

It's about the size of a regular digital camera and weighs less then a pound. It's perfect for on hand video, nothing fancy or high tech. The zoom is about a 2.0x which is the only downside I could find about the Flip Video so far. It just means that all video must be taken up close. The video quality and sound are both amazing for what it is. I found no voice distortion at all. I am simply in heaven with this device. I'm definitely going to look into purchasing the carrying case and tripod at some point in the near future for added protection.
