I bought a camcorder because I have two small children and wanted to get as much of them on tape as I could while they are small.
When I went shopping for a camcorder, this one was one of the first I came across that caught my eye. Right off the bat, the price seemed very reasonable, so after looking at a few more I came back to this one.
I had never operated a camcorder before, and I wanted something that was going to be easy to operate, and didn't require reading and studying a manual for days just to learn how to turn it on.
I was sold on it after looking at it for about 15 minutes, and when I got it home I was taking video in about the same amount of time.
The dial on the side to change the settings is very easy to use. Very clear in what you are supposed to do, and what all the settings are for.
The camera is very lightweight, but not cheaply made, so you don't have to be scared of breaking it too easily..and with 2 kids who want to try making a movie, believe me it has been dropped quite a bit.
It comes with a 30 minute rechargable battery that charges very quickly, and if you need more time and are near an outlet, it also comes with an adapter so you can run it right off an outlet.
The adjustable carrying strap makes it really easy to take it wherever you go, even without the proper leather carrying case this camera is very easy to transport because it is so small and lightweight.
It doesn't take the best of pictures, but I am very pleased with what it can do.
If you are thinking of getting into producing big fancy home movies this camera is not for you, but if you just want a simple camera to take some video of kids, then this camera will do the job for you.
