The best bang for your buck.
Pros
Unbelievable picture, excellent sound. Very easy to use menus and extremely easy programming. True HDTV.
Cons
It's not 16:9 widescreen which is troublesome when viewing HDTV. It's very heavy and awkward.

The Bottom Line:
Well worth its pricetag-a fantastic entry level HDTV. Minus its weight and that it?s not true widescreen, the picture is unbeatable, the sound magnificent, and the value great.
Other than that it is not truly 16:9 standard (i.e. when you are watching HDTV or a widescreen DVD, there are still "boxes" at the top and bottom of the screen), this is a phenomenal TV. DVD's on this set naturally come with "black boxes" lining the movie on the top and bottom of the screen to fit the widescreen onto the 4:3 format screen. However, when viewing HDTV, black boxes are not an option and you must choose from a wide array of distracting colors to have as "bars" on your screen-you get used to it but it is very aggravating at first.
You will also need to buy a separate HDTV tuner to receive crystal clear high def signals at an additional cost of $300-$600.
Beyond that, I have been extremely impressed: the colors are breathtaking, the images crisp and razor sharp and the size overall is perfect. It rarely feels huge like many larger TV's would in medium size rooms and yet even in large rooms (my current living room is 14'x 28' and the couches right now are nearly 20' feet from the TV and everything looks great!) it is a great size! The TV is a fantastic value and a great buy.
