The Bottom Line:
Great Purchase, it exceeded everything I needed in an MP3 player to get me through work and play.
The RCA Jet stream to me is one of the best mp3 units on the market for the money you spend. It’s a great workout partner and is water resistant. It features 1 GB of memory (not enough for all day but enough for a workout), a wireless headphone, stopwatch, pedometer, calorie counter, BMI calculator, FM radio, full color screen and you can store photos and video clips. With the Jet stream’s small lightweight design you may even forget your wearing it. It comes with two armbands, one for the arm and for the wrist. To use some of the features like the radio you will need to use a wired headphone. My own unit has had its share of bumps and bruises as I also use it to work around the house, it’s been dropped in the pool, I forgot I had it on at the beach and it got wet there (I would not do this on purpose) but mine survived it. It’s fallen off at the gym and with me during games of basketball and various other things I find myself doing. It’s been very durable and reliable. I have read the battery will last anywhere from 12 to 18 hours. I do not believe it will last that long but I have plugged it into the car auxiliary and gone for drives of over 3 hours and it lasted just fine. If I get to where I do not want to hear my MP3 music I can listen to the FM radio and I can save my favorite settings. I’ve listened to audio books which is a great feature to me as I have a condition that limits my ability to read. Uploading music to the Jet stream is a breeze. I don’t have to use any proprietary software or converters I just move or copy the music I want from my pc to the jet stream and it’s done. The wireless headphones sounds good but certain movements can interfere with connection. It uses Kleer technology which I guess is RCA’s but I really wish they had used the more standard Bluetooth technology. You can’t go wrong with the purchase of an RCA Jet stream. I purchased it when it first came at $149.00 and not sorry that I did. Now that they are going for around $100 and less it’s a good buy and I may purchase a second.
