I love my Lyra
Pros
Great video quality, 20GB storage.. that's a lot! It works.
Cons
No scanning through your library while listening to a song
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
If you've got the money to spend, go for this product.
I actually won this product from my radio station when I called in to request a song. But I really love it. I transferred my whole media library off of my computer, and it plays fine on the lyra. I also love how I can record off of the TV and put video clips on my computer. Very cool.
One of the few bad things about it is that while you are listening to a song, it doesn't let you browse through your other songs. So you would have to press stop or wait for the song to finish in order to look through your other media. So I always keep mine in "shuffle all" mode, so it continuously plays random songs from my library. I don't really mind it that much.
For portability purposes, it kind of seems to stray from the compactness of the iPod and seems more like a mini laptop if you ask me. This is probably mostly because it has a video screen.. but I'm just saying it might be too bulky and awkward to go jogging with.
Everything else about it I love. It really is a great product, but I wouldn't go spend all that money on it myself, because it isn't really a necessity. I'm glad I won it, though!
