The Bottom Line:
Can't possibly recommend this piece of garbage.
I picked up this device for my recent 2 week trip. I wanted an mp3 player, and thought I might as well get one with cool video capabilities as well.
I hate this device.
Technically, it isn't useless or without nice features. The built in stand is nice. The audio quality is good. The build quality isn't too shabby. If they worked, cool features. That's about it. Every other aspect of this device blows.
-Battery life is pathetic
-"beta" level feature roll-out (a majority of the features aren't available until some theoretical future software release date)
-S.L.O.W. - I encode my mp3's at a high bitrate. It appears to have to cue up the entire song, very slowly, into memory or something before it can start playing it. A typical 4 minute song would take approximately 3 minutes to load. And when it goes to the next song.. same thing all over again.
-Poor video format compatibility
-Even slower file listing ability, and even slower still CF card reading ... and then even slower still (easily 10-12 minutes) to transfer a 3.2megabit image from the card to the machine.
hrm.. I know there were more things that I hated about this device, but I think this should be enough for now.
