Great TV generally, but ....
Pros
Great picture, particularly through the S-Video. Good sound.
Cons
Have had to unplug the TV to reset picture & sound twice in 8 months.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
Highly recommend it, but keep it on it's own power source.
I bought this TV brand new at an online auction for $500 under list. Set up was a breeze - the menus are easy to navigate.
The picture quality is great, particularly through he S-Video connection (2 on the back). I have my satelite connected to one & also through my VCR into the cable connection. Switching between the cable & S-video show a marked change. DVD's also come alive. The sound is impressive for standard speakers - you can really crank it up.
I have not used the Guide Plus, so cannot comment on it's operation.
The one problem I have had (and I read that others have had it also) is that the sound & picture go out. The first time this happened, I lost audio ONLY though the cable - still had sound through the S-video audio connections. I rang a service center & before I had finished describing the problem, he suggested unplugging it, leaving it 60 seconds & plugging it back in. This worked. However, a few months later, the audio & picture both went. I unplugged & replugged & all was OK again. This seems to be some sort of overload "feature", but it's very frustrating.
