RCA RC5400P 5.8 in. Portable DVD Player

I bought mine at a major retail store in my town. I am glad because I am going to have to return it after taking it on a trip. I took 10 DVD?s with me on the trip, of those 10. It was not able to play 5 of them. The really sad thing is 2 of the four I just bought and were the new GOLD color DVD?s. It was able to play the older DVD (Silver) from my collection. I have a (non portable) DVD so I know the disks are good. I did notice that the heat gets so bad that it will stop playing a DVD, so I had to turn it off... wait for it to cool down, and then it would resume playing them.

Another problem is that when it heats up a disk that has a painted side. The paint rubs off on the felt on the reverse side of the lid and is deposited on the next disk you put in. Which has ruined one of my double-sided disks (actually I am hoping I can clean it to make it usable again)

It would not play the following movies: Fight Club, American PIE, Mummy Returns and Battlefield Earth, Dogma

It did play the following: Gladiator, The Matrix (but is had to be reset in the middle), and The evils Advocate

I need a player that will play all DVD?s available not just the old ones.
