RCA DRC6350N DVD Player / VCR Combo

Truthfully, I don't know how much a person can say about a DVD/VCR combo, but I guess I'll give it a try since I seem to like this little guy okay. Well, that's assuming this thing is a male, or it can be a female if you like. It's totally up to you.

Anyway, I tend to buy RCA products since Wal-mart carries a lot of them and I think this one definitely gives a bang for the buck since it's seemed to be pretty durable. It has been hit, moved around, knocked off the shelf, and so on. When one has cats, its hard to keep them off of things. Yet, it plays on as if nothing ever happened to it. I guess that definitely says a lot in the department of durability.

So, what will this baby play? No, it doesn't play every format known to man, but it plays a few. DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, VCD, CD, and CD-R/RW. That pretty much covers the basics and it does it all quite well.

The progressive scan eliminates scan lines on a video image and give you a sharper picture than the original ole DVD players that introduced themselves to us back in the day. You've got your coaxial digital audio output that provides an encoded six-channel Dolby output and a front A/V input system for camcorders and other components that you wish to play on your TV via your combo unit.

What's also great about having a combo is that you don't have a remote for everything. You can use the same remote for the DVD and VCR functions and in some cases program it to your TV so you don't have three remotes getting lost all over the house. That's what I love about combos and that's what influences my buying decision.

I love the convenience and the capabilities. I love the durability and flexibility. There's not really anything I hate about this and it definitely makes a good friend. It would help if it could play DIVx though, but I knew it didn't when I laid eyes on it. I have another one that does, so that's okay.
