Not complete crap, but almost

****UPDATE****
I have to update this and at the same time LOWER my rating and recommendation of this "boom" box. The other night I was sitting in front of my computer when I noticed a smell, a burning smell. I went into alert mode and began frantically searching for the source. I traced the smell to my teenage son's room. He traces the odor to this boombox and and sure enough there was a burning odor coming from it. I took it out to the garage and plugged it in (maybe not the smartest thing to do with something that was just emitting a burning odor, but I digress) to test it.
The radio came on and played fine through the speakers, but the cd player was dead. Or just as good as dead; it wouldn't play anymore. Who knows what will become of the warranty--funny how his birthday JUST passed 2 weeks ago and he got this for his birthday last year.
