I picked this unit up for my bedroom (small) and found the overall sound to be very good for this type of system. The bass boost function tends to over power the rest of the audio spectrum so I haven't used it that often. I tend to be more of a equalizer fan anyway. All the basic sound equalization functions are built in with the added bonus of custom setup.The major complaint I have with this unit is that it can not be programmed via the front buttons on the unit's faceplate. Programming of all functions (timer, sleep,clock) can only be done through the remote control. So don't lose that remote or you'll be stuck forever with the last settings you used! If you're looking for an inexpensive alternative for your bedroom or den you can do much worse than this unit.
