Good HW, bad SW
Pros
Cheap, matrix display
Cons
power hungry, bad player for normal and MP3 CDs
Recommended it?
No
The Bottom Line:
Never worked correctly. Hardly used. Wasted my money.
In comparison with the Exonion this RCA/Phillips MP3 CD player is really miserable. Not only must you pay special extra attention in burning perfect MP3 CDs but, even then, it sometimes just cannot cope with the decoding. Forget about giving your friend's MP3 CD a try, it most certainly will not play.
It is also a power monster, it requires four AA battery to run. That renders the unit quiet heavy and severely limits its portability.
Worse of all, it is a very bad normal music CD player. Yes, even normal music CDs are sometimes not played correctly. I end up not using it at all.
Given its price, the only good element is the nice and big matrix LCD display. Fortunately competitors have long caught up with much better products. Keep looking, it will be a snap to find something better.
