UPDATE TO THIS REVIEW
I was asked about features, and it is important to note some of the quirks to these features, and they are:
1. The units large interactive display. It shows the title of the track and artist. Unfortunately, the end user should have vast knowledge of how to edit the ID tags for Mp3's for it to work properly. A suggested program would be "Tag&Rename" which allows the editing of the ID3 and ID3 v2 formats. You just can't rename the file in explorer.
2. A built in charging circuit for nicads. Unfortunately, the amount of power this unit uses, I don't expect nicads to last as long as alkalines.
3. Good sound. Options of sound are: Normal, Digital Bass Boost, Surround and Digital with Surround. Unfortunately, again, the surround sounded more like it should have been called "Hollow".
The following is the original review I wrote.
I don't have much too say about this player besides what is said by "jordancs" in his review, which was: VERY WELL WRITTEN.
I had the "popping" problem when the player initially started reading the cd, the skipping of the songs and even had one song go into "the chipmunks" mode. This was the first night of use.
The batteries lasted about 4 hours.
I took it back, and settled with the SONY D-FJ61.
This player is not recommended by myself as far as mp3/cd players go.
p.s. My initial purchase was the RCA Lyra2 but decided that the cost of the flash cards was beyond my "justifiable" budget for personal audio as I have an extensive collection of MP3's, so I returned it. Now the RCA Lyra2 was IMPRESSIVE.
