I LOVE Commercial Advance!

Pros CommercialAdvance, easy to use, remote control is well designed. VHS VISS index, 8 memory slots
Cons cheap housing, some fuzzyness on EP oldtapes, Hifi audio kicks-in only after a 3 seconds
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  CommercialAdvance ever heard of it? Just sitback get a bowl of popcorn press play and forget about commercials in your favorite tvshows this vcr does the rest for you.
This is the part you want to read: You want ease of Use ? This vcr LITTERALLY operates with the touch of "a" button.

here's the story, i was searching for a good solid month, i've looked at atleast a dozen if not more and bought about 5 or 6 VCRs (all returned to the store of course) before i stumbled across this vcr, and i'm darn glad i did. Yes, thank god for C.A. and i'm not even a religious type! ;) lol!

Not expensive for a commercial advance machine, if you plan to spend about 150$ (Canada) and hate (i mean loath) commercials! i highly recommend this one or the panasonic pvv series (200$), both with commercial advance(tm).

The price is fair for the cheap mechanical parts and paper thin housing it comes in, but hey it looks snazy on my tv!

This RCA-VR661HF, with Commercial Advance(TM) (thank you very much!), the awesome thing about taping with it, is that now those 3 minute long commercials just zip by, automatically and magically i might add ;)!

So thats a good argument for "Commercial Advance(TM)" (CA) if i ever heard one lol! its almost as fun as a DVD. Granted the quality isn't near dvd, i'm just talking about the enjoyment i get with the skipping of the infernal commercials.

its not a high-end 300$ VCR but its fine for everyday recordings.

And take it from someone who keeps everything he likes: the SP on this thing if good enough to tape stuff and keep them for years to come.

bye.

ps: a tip i learned online, is that alot of the websites, www.rca.com, www.sony.com, www.panasonic.com have the owner/user manuals available for download, so instead of shopping for hours on end and still not knowing what this box does, just find a pdf reader (Adobe Acrobat) and read those manuals, they'll pretty much help you out about any questions you have prior to buying the thing.
