The Bottom Line:
Sometimes RCA/GE gets a bad rap, but overall I have a few of their products and have good experiences with them. This VCR backs me up.
We purchased the RCA (mdl# VR661HF) VCR, because we wanted it to be compatible with our RCA television. We also wanted stereo, (Hi-Fi) quality, since we have surround sound. Turns out after we set it up & read the manual, it has commercial advance for playback and it turns itself off after 2 hours of inactivity. This is a plus, since I always seem to forget to turn off my old VCR & in turn it wouldn't tape my programs.
The other plus is that the audio/video jacks are in the front. This is great when we want to view our digital camera shots/video- as a video.
Lastly, I can finally use one remote to control the television, the cable box and the VCR. This makes me very happy.
