The Bottom Line:
only buy this if you can afford to have it repaired, or don't watch a lot of tv. but what's the point then?
Hey, even if the picture is good quality, if the sound quality is poor it's not worth it. This TV
doesn't offer Auto sound leveling. You know when the TV show you are watching goes to a
commercial, and then all of a sudden your being drowned out by the loud burst of noise being
produced from the TV speakers. Most of the features are common place here, nothing special
except for the price and the fact that you have a full, resolution picture with a relatively nice
picture. An improvement for this system would be to make it surround sound ready. The other
side to the picture issue is the fact that the bulbs are so price, yes they are about $200 or better
and that is before shipping and handling, and if your picture is out and you have to wait for a new
bulb plan on having a back up TV. They don't provide any bulb warranty or offer to replace on
TV warranty unless you go for the extended warranty coverage this time it actually is worth
considering. Optoma RD50 50 in. HDTV-Ready Television is a deal for the Bargain shoppers
out there but you get what you pay for. Plan on placing this TV in a safe place and not moving it
around. Bulb life tends to be shorter with frequent movement, or vibrations, so make sure it's not
placed near a door way, or hallway entrance or exit. Also avoid direct sunlight on the screen if
you want to keep your picture quality as high as possible and dust lightly as often as needed to
keep the screen crisp and clear. Menus are easy to understand and pretty standard. Over all it's just another
TV. You have to have special receiver to get your HDTV picture to work, it is not a true HDTV
