The Bottom Line:
It is designed to be a work/professional phone. Go with an Android or an Iphone.
The Blackberry 9000 looks great, with the silver border that goes around, making it look distinguished from other phones. i love the feel of the leather back, it gives it a high quality feel. This phone is pretty heavy, I prefer heavier phones so it suits me fine. One of the largest factors that influenced my purchase was the fact that blackberries are extremely sturdy and durable phones. This phone is no exception to that generalization. The phone has become pretty slow after use. The battery life has been steady throughout the year and a half that I have been using the phone. The keyboard is very well designed and nicely executed. I have not had a problem with the trackball although it can be pretty annoying at times. The worst part now is that blackberry is a dying brand, the market is dominated by andrioids and Iphones at this point. The operating software is not anywhere near as good as android or apples mobile os. Although the screen is large, it is not anywhere near as large as full touchscreen phones that don't have keyboards. The display is really nice, the colors are bright and pictures are crisp. The camera is pretty high resolution for a mobile device, 3.2 mp. It takes great pictures but it can't do much in a low light setting.
Final Thoughts: This phone is excellent for someone who need is going to use it as a work for, primarily for email and worldwide service, but otherwise I don't see any reason why someone would get this over an Android or Iphone
