The Bottom Line:
I do not recommend this phone because it is bulky, slow, and seems outdated.
I purchased a used Blackberry 9000 from someone off of Craigslist but I will write this review with the store price in mind as I know this is a 300 to 400 dollar phone. To begin with, when you boot the phone, it takes an excrutiatingly long time to load. This is very inconvienient if you are in a rush and trying to make a call fast. I did enjoy streaming music from the internet right to my phone and I could even save them in my music library. The app selection isn't as good as that of the iPhone. Many times when I browsed through the apps i would close it because I didn't see anything worth using up the limited memory. The 128 MB are not worth much in these days and times of Gigabytes. The phone is somewhat bulky but manageable. The buttons are very close together so that will definently take some time to get used to. There are also many moments where the phone will just seem to randomly freeze for no reason. I think Rim really needs to consider updating the processor in their phones because every Blackberry seems to be the same way. My last issue with this phone is that my trackball would get stuck without the trackball the phone is virtually unusuable. I would then clean it with alcohol and it would make the phone go crazy for about 20 minutes. Overall, I would not recommend this phone, especially for the ridiculous price they expect for it.
