Go For A Newer Version

Pros It's like a traveling office -- and a computer in your pocket.
Cons Those listed above.
Data plans are pricey.
App World disappears.
Trips to the store to fix the phone.
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line: Don't buy this phone, but buy a newer version of the Blackberry. Most of the kinks have been worked out by now.
I have this phone, and have for the past year. And I do not like it. I loved it, of course, in the beginning, before the problems started pilling up. I like that you can get to the internet, your email, and do pretty much anything you want. But I know plenty of people that have had problems with it.

Main Problem #1: It freezes. All the time. I'll be in the middle of doing something, researching something, whatever, and the hourglass thinking symbol will come up. I'll wait, and wait, and wait until finally I get fed up and take the battery out to restart it. Which brings me to problem 2.

Main Problem #2: It takes forever to turn on. It is technically a computer, yes, but not even the oldest of computers should take this long to turn on. It's at least a 5 minute wait. When you're in a hurry, it's not convenient at all.

Main Problem #3: When you take the battery out after your phone freezes, you have to reset everything. Since the phone freezes at least twice a week... you get the idea. And if you forget to reset everything, especially the time, you'll be pretty confused for a while. And your alarm won't go off at the right time.

Main Problem #4: The control ball. It falls out of place, doesn't turn, and sometimes just doesn't communicate with the phone at all, resulting in having to take the battery out again, or take a trip to the phone company's store so they can reset it or give you a new phone.

I'll touch on the other problems below, but those needed to be elaborated on.
