The Bottom Line:
The Blackberry Curve 8520 offers great functionality and simplicity, professionalism, and trendiness, all in a lightweight and attractive package.
I purchased the Blackberry Curve 8520 because after a presentation of almost every smartphone in the store, this phone's features and abilities stood out to me most. Also, the white/frost color is quite attractive. I love the trackpad (as opposed to the trackball most Blackberrys have), as well as the Blackberry App world, where applications can be found for almost anything you can think of. The functionality of the Curve 8520 is great - so many apps and features within the phone itself to cater to your everyday life. The rather small Qwerty keys did take some getting used to, but after a few days of texting, I could text without even looking. After the OS update fro 4.6 to 5.0, I felt like I basically had a new phone! It was good, and also they are free (updates). Some of the apps I find myself using most are the calendar, memo pad, and Documents to Go. But believe me, there are many more. The only thing I dislike about the Curve 8520 is its lack of 3g, but I usually access the internet with Wi-Fi, so it is not a huge problem. Overall, for my first smartphone experience, the Blackberry Curve 8520 was awesome and makes me happy that I became a member of the Blackberry community.
