The Bottom Line:  Best choice for business users.
If you have been a BlackBerry user all along, then this is the greatest one (until the next one comes out, of course). It keeps all the great BB features. For those who're not familiar with BlackBerries, that means a care-free wireless email experience. You can integrate one enterprise account (Exchange, Notes, or GroupWise based) and 10 personal ones (it supports all kinds of ISPs you can think of) with it. Once integrated, all your incoming messages are delivered to your BlackBerries in near real-time. You can also view many common attachment file types. For your enterprise account, you can precisely control the way messages and folders are handled on the device.

For PDA junkies, this BB has all the necessary tools: calendar, memos, address book, calculator, and a password keeper (can really be a life saver). Many of those are integrated with your enterprise messaging account.

The speakerphone is one feature 8703e has that has been overlooked so far by most BlackBerries. 8703e's speakerphone is loud and clear and can easily be used for conference by a small group of people.

Web browsing is a snap on Verizon's EVDO network. Even on a slower 1xRTT signal in some regions, the speed is still acceptable. The built-in browser can manage to render readable websites even when they're not specifically for small devices. It also support limited JavaScript functions.

The tethered modem feature enables the device to become a high-speed modem when attached to a Windows PC. Now your laptop can have an Internet connection wherever you have Verizon 1X or EVDO signal! I often got DL speed between around 400K on it, which is almost like a low end DSL connection.

The security aspect is good too. The device will wipe off all its data after ten wrong attempts are made for entering the device password. It can also be wiped remotely if used with a BlackBerry Enterprise Server.

The feature set of 8703e is almost identical to 7130e, except the form factor. 8703e has the traditional BlackBerry shape with the full qwerty keyboard, while 7130e has a slim body for easy holding as a phone and a typical phone keypad.

BlackBerries have traditionally targeted business users so it's no surprise 8703 still lacking things like camera, media player, and most importantly, an expansion slot for flash memories. It'd be even more fun to use with those added.

Note: I got my 8703e from Verizon. So some of my experiences may be Verizon specific.
