An OK radio for the money

Pros Price, MP3 playback
Cons Faceplate Rattles, No Remote
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:  A good mp3 for the money, but only recomended if the faceplate rattling doesn't drive you crazy (unless you have the best suspension ever on your car)
My first impression on this deck was the nice, crisp display without all the extra bells and whistles found on higher end radios. I was going for the sound itself, not the image. The Dot matrix display was a nice touch, considering my second choice (JVC SX980), and the red illumination gives it a nice "European" style.

But after a week, the WOW factor is starting to fade away. Th most ANNOYING thing is the faceplate, IT RATTLES A LOT!!!!! It's not the little plastic silver frame, is the metal faceplate attachment base. I don't understand how something this basic wasn't noticed by the Rockford Development team. It has something to do with the design itself, the faceplate coming down with the face up instead of down like most Pioneer decks.

I live in Venezuela, where the Streets have a lot of bumps and irregularities, so the faceplate rattles all the time. Putting some foam circles to dampen the sound has diminished the problem, but still is something not acceptable for any deck.

Also, the unit skips the first half a second of some tracks, it seems common with a lot of other decks, so I don't know if this is really a problem with the HU or the way I'm burning my mp3's
