Best MP3 player in it's category
Much like nathan_wilson, I studied all of the head units with MP3 support. After looking at Pioneer, Kenwood, Sony, Panasonic, etc... this unit was the best bang for the buck. Main points I considered were looks, sound quality, useful features for MP3 support, all tempered by cost.
The...

An OK radio for the money
My first impression on this deck was the nice, crisp display without all the extra bells and whistles found on higher end radios. I was going for the sound itself, not the image. The Dot matrix display was a nice touch, considering my second choice (JVC SX980), and the red illumination gives it a... Read full review »
Great In-Dash MP3 Player
I bought this head unit hoping for decent speaker amplification (since I don't want to install an additional amp) and good MP3 support. I have to say I haven't been disappointed!
First of all, the MP3 functionality is great. I really am happy with the ability to play 190 near-CD-quality songs...

RFX9000: Best features for best price
I studied many of the in dash car MP3/CD players and chose the Rockford Fosgate RFX9000 for its features and affordability. The most important feature is the support for Joliet file names. Most car MP3/CD players out there only support ISO9660 format which severely limits how many characters can be... Read full review »
RFX9000 = best one out there
Alright, for anyone looking to play mp3's in their car this is the system to go with. Much less expensive than comparably equipped head units out there, and very high quality. It comes with a heat sink - something only high end units carry, and also something you won't find on any other models. I... Read full review »
Good to the end
After exactly 30 months, unit start failling loading MP3 on RW media, then, MP3 on R media, then stops reading any kind of CD. Fix could be from $50 to $100. So, after this time, it would be a waste of money trying to repair it. I just leave it with my car when I sold it.
Sound Quality was...

Rockford MP3 deck
Sound is clear and good quality. Deck is bright silver, doesnt match too many interiors. Easy to adjust settings with big volume knob.
I bought this unit in July and had it installed by the store. a month or so later (after returns expire of course) it started to rattle/vibrate annoyingly...

Top notch MP3 deck. Highly Recommended.
I've looked at and listened every MP3 player deck I've come across, and the RFX9000 is the best one yet.
First off, it's less expensive than most MP3-enabled decks, especially those in it's class. Sony and Panasonic offer inexpensive MP3 decks, but they in no way compare to Rockford...

RFX9000 is an excellent MP3 CD player
I used a 9000 for a year, then upgraded to a 9110.
Now I have another car, and I'm going back to the 9000.
Although it does not support the FM station naming, it works better with MP3 CDs. It almost never skips, and it's more forgiving of different CD brands.
I've found that some...
