Fosgate failed when real car audio knowledge was needed

The Bottom Line:
Never got it working. Don't buy if tech support is a priority. They do not admit their mistakes and are willing to deal only with common problems.
Interested in the Rockford Fosgate P450.4 amplifier, I made pre-purchase calls to the Rockford Fosgate tech support department to confirm the multi-channel P450.4 would wire the same as my old amp and be a direct replacement with no extra parts needed. I explained the wiring and they repeated it back to me confirming they understood. They said it will work. Not seeing the wiring diagram needed in the online manual I called Fosgate tech support back. Once again they said it will work, even though not shown in the manual.
Upon start up, I discover this amp does NOT support my wiring needs. Rockford Fosgate tech support then told me it can be done with additional electronic parts and modifications but could not make recommendations which parts to buy. My persistent contact produced suggested parts to try but not where to buy them and no guarantees on performance. I accepted this Fosgate error but could not locate the parts. Local car audio shops said the Fosgate solution is not done anymore as it was what was done in the old days and that there are much better solutions available now. I then asked Fosgate tech support to locate and send the parts. They responded saying Rockford Fosgate does not carry the parts so none will be sent.
Closing in on the 30 day product return date and many emails later Rockford Fosgate refused to rectify the mistake of their Technical Support Department and the people in management higher up than the head of Tech Support refused to contact me after four requests to do so. Rather than Fosgate spending the few dollars to locate and send the proper parts needed to resolve their mistake, Rockford Fosgate chose to spend much more on labor hours trying to avoid admitting their mistake.
With no time left I was forced to return the amp. Then by some miracle, Fosgate contacts me saying they found the parts in their inventory and will send them. This terrible experience tells me that the high marks for Fosgate tech support I read about could only be for everyday common problems that most people can solve themselves. They certainly failed here when real car audio knowledge was needed.
