The Bottom Line:
Only purchase this product if you intend to only use 6 discs and you use MP3's/Shuffle feature infrequently.
I purchased this player for my 2002 Honda. My car is one of many listed as being compatible with the changer.
I had the changer professionally installed and had problems with it ever since.
I came into the following problems:
-The changer is not FULLY compatible with all vehicles.
Though the changer is advertised as a 10 disc changer, I was unable to listen to any disc past 6 unless I just let the player play through. This means I also could not skip a track, once I was past disc 6 and I pressed any navigation button, I was taken to the first disc. Also, I was unable to listen to any MP3 tracks past 99 unless I brought the player to 99 and let it play through. Again, the same restrictions applied when navigating at all.
-Shuffle feature doesn't work properly all of the time
While using the shuffle feature, the CD player would often stop a song right in the middle and jump to the next. This happened more often then not and very sporadically.
-Very finicky with how an MP3 disc is burned, won't recognize all discs
I was forced to burn MP3 discs with a specific program in Windows. No MAC discs or other programs would create a disc recognizable by the changer. This was also sporadic. Sometimes these other discs would work, often they would not.
-Takes FOREVER to start playing discs
Once you turn the stereo on or change discs, expect a full minute at least before any music starts ... EVERYTIME.
-Does not recognize MP3 discs with folders
As any MP3 user knows, it is common practice to keep MP3's in folders to separate bands, albums, etc. This changer would not recognize discs with folders. This leaves you with your only option being putting all tracks (often 100-150) in the same directory, making it impossible to find what you're looking for.
