When I started thinking about getting my first mobile phone, I had these
great intentions on buying myself a small, modern looking phone that had
all the functions that I would ever need, or want. I originally wanted
a Nokia 3210, hence why this review is in the Nokia section.
The truth, however, is that with my taste in phones, I was never actually
going to find "that" phone, the one with everything. So, I looked and
looked and came across the Sagem MC825FM. Sagem is a French brand of
mobile phone, very European in styling, with modern, trendy colours and
looks.
I must say, that I fell in love with the look and feel of the phone
before actually looking at the functions that it offered. After spending
a few minutes looking at the manual, reading the information and pushing
buttons, I decided to make the purchase.
The Sagems are all designed with built in Hands-Free. There is no need
for a dangling wire like other phones, or for uncomfortable ear-pieces.
The Sagem hands-free is similar to a standard landlines speaker phone.
I love the Sagems Hands-free when driving, I set it to automatically
answer, and just sit it on the dashboard. When someone calls, the phone
answers automatically, and we just talk, the phone does the rest.
Of course, the Sagem comes with all the standard functions, redial,
memory, so on and so forth, but it also comes with all those little extra
features, that come in handy most of the time. Clock, Calculator,
Calander, Currency and Temp. Converter.
The best feature of this phone? This Sagem is not ONLY a phone, it also
has a built in FM Radio! Yes, that is right, you can listen to the
Radio at any time, simply by pushing a button on your phone! The Sagem
will work almost anywhere, in fact, it has such a powerful antenna, that
this phone will work where many others will not.
The size of the Sagem is virtually the same as the Nokia 3210, and weighs
5 grams less than the Nokia. The only problem with the Sagem is the
accessories. There are not that many of them. Currently available are
car and bench chargers. I am not sure if leather cases are available at
the moment, but I do hear that Sagem will be releasing a new line of
phone in the next few months, which will come with all the accessories
expected with a good reliable mobile phone.
