Durable, simple phone

Pros Unbreakable! Good reception and easy to use.
Cons Torturous belt clip; battery on its last breath; no alarm clock.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  If you are not a mobile phone fan - this is the thing to have. It will do what it is intended to do.
I like this phone. I signed a two-year contract a year ago, and this was the freebie offered by Nextel. This phone is just over a year old now. I bought this phone because my wife and I had a baby, and no matter how much I did not want a mobile phone, I got one.

Why I like it:
- I dropped it so many times! On asphalt, ceramic tile, concrete, my dog. The phone has several scratches on it due to such abuse, but other than that - still works like new.
- Good reception. It performs no worse, from comparing to my friends' phones, than others.
- Simple interface. I hate talking on the phone, especially when I have to dial while driving. On this one, the numbers of people who called in are stored (the last 20 or so), so calling people back requires two button presses. Caller ID does what it's supposed to.
- Speakerphone feature - people never complained about having difficulty hearing me. And that's considering the phone flailing in my hand while I'm driving. (Doesn't sound all that safe, guilty as charged).

What I don't like:
- Battery. Somebody told me that if you charge the battery longer than 6 hours, it begins to lose its potency. As of now, the battery has enough juice to keep the phone powered for about three days with minimal phone usage.
- Belt clip. It's painful. The "ear" of the clip, when it's appropriately clipped to the belt from the top, sticks into your belly - any belly that's not a six-pack. After a day of carrying this thing on your belt, especially while sitting, it gets very irritating. Also, you can't use your phone without taking it out of the clip.
- There is no option to have the phone on both vibrate and audible ring. This could be helpful, without switching it to "silence" and forgetting about it, when cutting grass with a lawnmower and a phone in your pocket.
- No alarm clock. I'm envious of my wife's Samsung when it comes to that.

I like the plan I got with this phone. 800 anytime minutes with free nights and weekends for around $38 monthly. But, because my wife recently had a terrible experience upgrading her plan through Sprint, I think I will be dropping my plan once the contract runs out.
