The Bottom Line:
This phone is a great phone and is stylish. It will have you and everyone ooing and ahing.
I use verizon wireless and had one of their touch screen phones that everyone raves about (the LG EnV Touch). I hated that phone due to the constant failure of the touch screen so I got an alias 2 and I am very happy with my switch! I especially love how this phone does not call anyone while it is in my pocket, something touch screen phones are BAD at doing!
BTW, the picture with this review of this phone is NOT the alias 2. That is the alias 1. google alias 2 to see a more accurate image.
I want to add this in, I am a teacher and of course my students, middle shoolers, wanted to see my new phone. Their first reaction was "oh, it's a flip phone, how lame and boring." But when I opened the phone and showed them the features they quickly changed their tune and thought it was the coolest phone they ever saw!
First I will start with the battery life: The battery is strong and allows me to use this phone (avereage user) without recharging for 3 days. This is amazing compared to most phones today that need recharging every evening.
The call quality is excellent. Even in the more remote areas of my traveling on the road I have perfect call quality. No calls have been dropped and one bar still means perfect clarity on my end and on the end of the other person. Even the internet blazes (for a phone web device). I love the speaker phone which is loud and clear. This allows me to put the phone in my lap or on a table and talk. Amazingly everyone can hear me on the other end.
The phone supports a microSD card for music and has a touch interface on the front for MP3 mode (play pause stop forward back etc). The sound of the MP3 is equal to any major mp3 player on the market.
My favorite feature is the e-ink interface. This is a flip phone and when you open the phone you will see some small buttons (my only setback but they are worth it for all the other features). The buttons are small and white with black digital imprints on them. When you close the phone and turn it on its side, the top screen opens from the side ALSO and becomes something like a side kick from T-mobile. The buttons on the pad "erase" their data and then re-write (happens in less than a second) as letters on a keyboard. Yes, the keypad is E-ink, digital imprints that can change and make something completely new. This phone is both a flip phone AND a sidekick with full keyboard! The alias 2 has a dual personality and its like two of the best kinds of phones in one!!!
The built in camera has an auto focus and has very nice pictures for a phone. I have never had a blurry print, this is perfect for video and pic texting.
As with all verizon phones, this phone has upgradable personalization like ringtones, wallpaper, mp3 songs, alerts, and games. Any feature you use on the verizon network this device pretty much can do.
All in all, I am glad I purchased this phone and plan to keep it a long time.
