Disappointing Smartphone

Pros Decent sized device, photo/video quality good, comes with two batteries of different sizes
Cons Keyboard difficult for texting, internet connection poor, errors sending MMS messages, service issues
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:  Stay away from the Samsung BlackJack Smartphone. The issues with internet connection, messaging issues, and texting difficulties make the phone a poor purchase.
The Samsung BlackJack Smartphone was the first PDA/Smartphone I've ever purchased and although at first I loved the phone, after a few weeks I started having issues.

I lose my internet connection regularly, and the only way to gain back access is to restart the phone. Also periodically I will be unable to receive/send MMS messages and will have to reset my internet/messaging connections.

Texting on the Samsung BlackJack Smartphone can be a hassle as the keys are tiny and also they don't always respond to being pushed (lots of backspacing and corrections).

AT&T phone service overall is okay. Being unable to dial out - the screen will say 'Dialing XYZ' but nothing will happen - is common, but dropped calls are not much of an issue and has only happened to me about a dozen times in the last 18 months.

On the positive side, I will say that the Samsung BlackJack Smartphone is sleek and functional looking. Photos are much clearer than other camera phones I've previously used, and video quality is also pretty good. The organizer tool and other options are standard but very useful (you can set 9 separate alarms!)

Also, the Gmail add-on is great. I had a few snags early on after installing, but email gets sent/received on real-time and is consistent.

As a side note, my fiance owns a BlackJack II a month after I did and we experience the same issues. Neither of us will purchase a BlackJack again in the future and are currently looking to upgrade to something else.
