Samsung DouCam SCD-5000 Mini DV Camcorder

Purchased this camera for convenience, and it delivers. Got tired of carrying two camera bags, and two sets of gear for the family outings and vacations. Has met or exceeded my expectations for image quality. The batteries do not last long, but they are small, which adds to the benefit of being a well packaged unit. The video quality is the same or better than my $700 Sony, and the still image quality is better than my $400 Canon 3MPixel. The shutter delay is a little longer on stills than the Canon, but on both I have to anticipate the shot so there is no real difference. There is nothing that I hate about the cam/corder, as my expectations were to meet my existing family equipment performance. It has loads of features in an easy to use package, the wife loves it and is taking more pictures and video than ever before. Purchased the camera for $800 new on-line, would have paid more and still be very happy.
